Jail is the rule made for poor and bail is right of rich, as number of accused persons who are not able to afford Legal Experts Advice are languishing in Jail for years together. And it is openly discussed that in the Prison the prison staff normally caused inflict bodily and mental injuries upon the prisoner on account of teaching the accused, criminal to lead disciplined habit in their daily lives.
It is openly discussed that in the prison all the facilities can be made available when the inmate prisoner is having money in their hands as when the person is in well off condition in that case the jail staff normally by illegal manner provide various luxuries amenities to any inmate who may be hard core criminal murderer like Lawrence Bishnoi, Arun Gavli, Abu Salem etc. And in other criminal cases, all those petty offenders, prisoners, inmates who are involved in less harsh kind of offences are subject to torture by the hands of those Prison Staff in case the demand of bribe money is not satisfied the relatives of the prisoner
Corruption in Prison are huge but it is not noticeable as the public does not get contact with the Jail authority like how we are connected with Police Authority. Recently on 15.12.2024 in the case of Corruption, bribery, at Central Taloja Prison, Navi Mumbai serving Senior Prison Officer named Nivritti Maneji Kannewad and Jail Duty Officer Rahul Parmeshwar Garad Police Constable whom prisoner called them as BABA are arrested by the office of Anti Corruption Bureau, Mumbai.
The case of the prisoner named Dinesh Dilip Pawar who is lodged at Taloja Central Prison is that he was regularly tortured by the Prison Staff of not making the demanded money to them and hence he was forced to inform and had to call to his family to pay bribe amount to those prison staff and hence after becoming intolerable to pain or to accept the torture from those prison staff said prisoner Dinesh Pawar informed the said facts to his brother and he said those staff asked him if he does not wants to receive the torture then said prisoner has to asked his family members to pay bribe of Rs. 10000 to them and accordingly the brother of the inmate, lodged a complaint at Anti Corruption Bureau and then arranged the trap and produced all the incriminating information to the office of Anti Corruption Bureau, Mumbai who as per the law have laid a trap and on 15.12.2024 arrested those two prison staff while accepting Rs. 10000 bribe from the brother of the said inmate, these two delinquent public servants are placed at Higher Post in the Central Taloja Prison, Navi Mumbai.
We the public now having serious fear and concern for the prisoner who are languishing in prison for years together, and must be subjected such kind of physical and mental torture from Jail Staff and hence need make a plea to the Government of Maharashtra kindly set up Team of social minded persons and honest IPS/IAS bureaucrats to examine the plight of the prisoners and make some effort to uplift the lives of prisoners and maintain the dignity of the prisoner, as every member of the citizen is having right to live with dignity despite of whether crime is proved or not.
