Mumbai, 13 July 2025 – A serious incident has come to light involving Bipasha Kumar, a 40-year-old English-medium teacher married having children at a reputed school in Dadar, who has been arrested by Dadar Police for allegedly sexually assaulting a 16-year-old male student of the same school.
As per the First Information Report (FIR No. 314/2025) registered on 28 June 2025 at Dadar Police Station, the offences involve repeated acts of sexual assault by the teacher under the guise of academic mentoring. The accused was taken into custody following a preliminary investigation by the local police.
The case has been booked under serious provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO), 2012, and relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code, including Section of Sexual Assault and section of Juvenile Justice Act.
Bipasha Kumar has filed a bail application before the Special POCSO Court, Mumbai, which is registered and is scheduled for hearing on 21 July 2025
“Teachers are entrusted with the noble responsibility of shaping young minds. When that trust is betrayed, not only is the victim’s life shattered, but the moral foundation of the institution is also severely damaged,” said an activist familiar with the case.
Due to the sensitive nature of the case and in strict compliance with Section 23 of the POCSO Act, the identity and personal details of the minor victim are being withheld.
